All You Can Drink Brunching at Valanni

2012 is literally just days away and while there's much to do between now and then (holidays, New Year's, and of course THE MUMMERS!!!) I'm really looking forward to the calm of January. So much so, that I'm already scheduling potential brunches.

First on the list is Valanni. The swanky cocktail lounge / restaurant which is known for its martinis and nightlife is now offering an all you can drink mimosa/ bloody Mary brunch for $25.

The menu sounds tasty and the thought of basking in a new year with good friends and a (near) never ending  glass of bubbly sounds wonderful, to me! Check out the menu here.

Some Like It Hot 50’s Fashion Show At Valanni

If tailored pencil skirts, peep-toe shoes, and classic hair styles are your idea of a good time, you’re not going to want to miss the Some Like It Hot 2010 Fashion show at Valanni on Tuesday, October 5, at 10pm.

Like Mad Men incarnate, the runway will be stocked with some of the hottest fashions of the 50’s showcasing local designers; South Moon Under, Three Sirens Boutique, Sorella Boutique (of Media, PA), VAMP Boutique (of Manayunk), and Senor Custom Clothiers during the fourth annual fashion show hosted by Valanni.

The fashion event will close down Spruce St. from Camac to 13th, with a U-shaped runway set up to snake from one open window, through the sidewalk and back into the restaurant, allowing passer-by’s and guests to watch the show outside as well.

Manayunk’s L’Etoile Salon and Spa will provide hair and make-up for the models and Valanni’s staff, including man about town and philly2night’s favorite go-to-pho-lebrity, Arthur Kade.

The show is free to all who are out and about in the neighborhood - especially since a runway show on 13th and Spruce is kind of hard to miss. But Valanni will be offering drink specials to guests including $5 Martini's, gimlets and Manhattans as well as complimentary hors d'oeurves and party favor gift bags.

Bubbles and Bites at Valanni

People need certain things to survive – the basics really, like food or shelter. But sometimes you need something a bit more exciting. Maybe even a little bit bubbly. It’s the little things in life, the tiny bubbles that put the fizzy in your drink that make it all worthwhile and on August 23, from 7pm – 9pm, Valanni will be hosting Bubbles and Bites: A Veuve Clicquot Cocktail Party!

At just $55 per person, this is the perfect way to celebrate the last few days of summer – with flights of champagne and lots of hors d’oeurves. Mingle with the Veuve ambassadors during the party and learn a little bit about each of the five to seven different varieties of bubbly that are being offered. Each one professionally paired with a bite of something fabulous.

The chef has created a menu showcasing Valanni’s signature tapas and an array of tasty hors d’oeurves including truffled popcorn, brie crostini, shrimp ceviche, tuna tartar, serrano wrapped cantaloupe, marinated mushroom baguettes, kumomoto oysters and for dessert, mini blueberry tarts and chocolate covered strawberries.

A bite of this, a sip of that, a cocktail party on a late August night – it really doesn’t get much better than this. The event will be held in Valanni’s private dining room and with such an intimate venue, limited seating will be available, so call for reservations. And remember, a little bubbly never hurt anyone.

Five Course Patron Throwdown At Valanni

While wine with dinner is much more traditional, having a little tequila with your meal can be just as enjoyable. Valanni, at 12th and Spruce, will hold its first annual Patron Throwdown pairing five courses of Spanish style tapas with five perfectly paired tequila cocktails on Monday August 16, at 7pm.

Tickets are $55 each which includes, not only your dinner but a complementary pre – dinner cocktail hour from 6pm – 7pm. The one hour open bar will introduce some of the signature cocktails that will be paired with dinner.

Once seated in Valanni’s private dining room, Patron ambassadors will be walking you through each course, explaining why the food pairs with the drinks. So not only do you get to have a delicious tequila paired dinner, it’s a learning experience too!
