When Spaghetti Warehouse shut its doors, it left many without jobs even more without spaghetti. But in its place, rising from its saucy ashes will be a new music venue known as Union Transfer. The all-ages venue will hold around 600 and even offer a separate 21+ bar area, but the feature the organizers seem most proud of will be the air conditioning.
Scheduled for a September opening, Union Transfer partners Sean Agnew of R5 Productions, Bowery Presents (a crew from NYC) and Four Corners Management (of Drinker’s fame) already have a lineup set.
The first show is scheduled for September 21 when Clap Your Hands Say Yeah will officially inaugurate the stage. The spring and fall lineup is available on the Union Transfer website.
Tickets for the first round of shows will go on sale July 16. And if all goes as planned, Union Transfer will do what pretty much no other establishment in the city has been able to accomplish. They will bring something great to 11th and Spring Garden AND they will open ON schedule. Good going guys!
