Opa Launches Happy Hour with Complimentary Eats

There's no better way to entice the city's fiscally challenged, yet stylishly savvy to your swank Midtown Village restaurant than to launch your brand new happy hour with two hours of freebies and some undeniably great deals.

This Thursday, January 19, from 5 - 7pm, Opa will be kicking off its first-ever happy hour by offering complimentary food and drinks during unannounced half hour intervals.

The words “Prime Rib Night” makes me think of old diner customers fighting over the end slice on a Monday night. But during the month of August, Prime Rib Night just got classed up a notch.

The Prime Rib, one of Philadelphia’s oldest steak spots is opening its doors to the deal seekers of the city and tossing out its civilized stature to offer a $15 Classic Prime Rib dinner special all month long.

Movie Night at Headhouse Square

Tonight in Headhouse, catch the 2011 Indie Film Series. Tonight’s screening will be Blender Animated Shorts. Blender is an animation program used to produce 2D and 3D animated graphics. This is not a Tug-boat Willie cartoon. It’s very modern and very popular with animators.

Each Wednesday throughout the summer in Headhouse, guest speakers and industry pros like local film-makers, stylists, makeup artists, directors and producers will introduce the night’s feature film at 2nd & Pine. Tuesday is Comedy Night at Little BAR

Little Bar, the new incarnation of the old Vesuvio’s has spent the past couple of months building its jazz rep. But jazz isn’t the only thing they do there. The floor level “stage” makes for an intimate setting and allows for all types of live acts, including stand-up.

Philly Soul’s Got Tickets by the Carload

According to an article in the Philly Business Journal, The Philadelphia Soul, Philly's arena football league, will be offering a special “charge by the carload” night.

This Friday, June 17, when the Philadelphia Soul hosts the Tulsa Talons, fans will be able to enter for $50 a carload. Anywhere from 4 – 15 peole will be accepted in the carload lanes.

Tomorrow morning, look for Chickie and Pete’s Taxi Crab all around the city. Everyone who packs in will receive a free ticket to the game. Look for the Taxi Crab at Rittenhosue Square at 8am, Love Park at 8:45am, Independence Mall at 9:30am and the Art Museum at 10:15am.
