uwishunu About the 3rd Annual Summer Ale Fest

The Summer Ale Festival is back for its third year at the Philadelphia Zoo. On Saturday, July 23, from 6:30–10 p.m., the Philadelphia Zoo will open its gates for an evening of music, food and seasonal brews.

Guests will have free reign of the grounds and will be able to take in the wildlife while sampling some of the tastiest seasonal ales of the summer. There are more than 20 craft breweries participating in the fundraising event: think Sly Fox, Philadelphia Brewing Company, Manayunk Brewery & Restaurant, Dock Street Brewery, Victory Brewing Company, Flying Fish Brewing Company and more.

There are also 30 different local restaurant tasting stations. Sample regional fare like locally-sourced farmstand products from Sweet Stem Farm (pork), Templ Foods (seitan), Eclat Chocolate (chocolate), The Bent Spoon (ice cream), Milk & Honey (honey), and the Fair Food Farmstand (produce, cheese and bread) plus urban farm-inspired dishes from Marathon.

Tickets, only available for advanced purchase, are $60 for general admission. Designated driver tickets are available for $30 and entitle the evening’s DD to two non-alcoholic beverages, and of course, access to all of the food tasting stations. VIP tickets are also available for $90 per person and grant guests early arrival at 6 p.m. and entry into the VIP tent from 6–7:30 p.m.
