uwishunu About National Watermelon Day at City Tap House

Nothing says summer like a fresh juicy piece of watermelon. And in celebration of National Watermelon Day, University City’s City Tap House has teamed up with The Ronald McDonald House to throw a BBQ party, Wednesday, August 3.

From 4pm – 8pm, enjoy BBQ and live music out on the terrace, house made spiked watermelon cocktails for $5 and watermelon lager and watermelon wheat beers for $4. City Tap House will be sourcing all of its watermelons from Fair Foods Farm Stand, to show their support of local farmers.

At 7pm, only the hungry will survive City Tap Houses’ first ever Watermelon Eating Contest. There is a $5 suggested donation to enter the contest and all proceeds will go to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. The contest winner will receive a pair of tickets to see the upcoming Kings of Leon concert on Friday, August 12, at the Susquehanna Bank Center.

There will also be a raffle for tickets to an upcoming Phillies game benefiting The Ronald McDonald house.
