uwishunu About This Week's Sustainable Saturday

The University City District Sustainable Saturday series continues this Saturday, July 16, with a celebration of the Journey from Farm-to-Table. This installment of the summertime event once again includes one-of-a-kind local food-focused activities around the West Philadelphia area.

The event begins in the Woodlands Cemetery at 10 a.m. where the Wild Foodies of Philly will lead a local expedition: “Foraging for Edible and Medicinal Plants.” You never know when that may come in handy.

At 2 p.m., Biba Wine Bar will host “Zip Code Honey, Local Cheese + PA Brews,” highlighting local cheeses, Pennsylvania’s craft beers and West Philadelphia’s urban honey courtesy of Urban Airplanes. This event costs $20 for admission; the cheese and beers are available for tasting at $3 each.
