Guapos Tacos Are Rolling Out Monday At Amis

Food trucks have come a long way from the grab and go college kid dietary staples they once were. In New York, after hours trucks are springing up all over town. Here in Philly, one of the first big names to hop on the food truck wagon, Iron Chef Jose Garces will be debuting his Guapos Tacos taco truck this Monday, September 6, from 10pm – 2am at Amis’ industry night.

These in the biz nights have pulled a cult following of servers, bartenders and hostesses to Amis, Mark Vetri’s Italian trattoria at 13th and Waverly. Since its opening, Amis has tried to hold industry nights on the first Monday of the month, offering free food and drink specials with a recent pay stub. The theme for this month’s collaboration is street food.

The Guapos Tacos truck will be parked on Waverly showing off and serving up Garces’ famous Latin inspired bites including tacos and watermelon margaritas. Amis, keeping with the theme will be offering pizza bianca, baby pig, mortatella sandwiches, salads and Dark and Stormy’s.

Food is free from 10pm – 12am and drink specials will run until 2am. The event will be capped at 350 guests but a quick sign up will reserve you up to four free tickets. Just be sure to bring your current pay stub!
